The ResilientLIVING design system was developed in 2023 and focused on the design and construction of homes or living spaces which can better adapt to our changing personal and family requirements as well as are more resilient against significant new social and environmental forces which can disrupt secure and comfortable living.
Design objectives resilientLIVING Systems homes include:
- Safe and effective adaptation to residents changing requirements from aging and illness.
- More effective adaptation to changing use requirements (ie: personal and family housing)
- Better adjust for multiple dwelling units - densification.
- More robust against environmental events such as fire, flooding, rain, wind, heat, ice events etc.
- Better adaptation to service disruptions such as electrical, gas, water, and network services.
- Provide greater personal security to accommodate for social unrest or crime.
